Abstract and Poster Guidelines

Scope and relevance

Submissions must align with topics in bioinformatics or computational biology, or with the symposium theme shown above.

Unpublished work is preferred. Previously published work is also accepted, provided it has not been submitted to an RSG-Türkiye symposium before.

How submissions are evaluated

Clarity. Well-formulated hypotheses and coherent descriptions.

Originality. Novel methodology, findings, or biological insights.

Relevance. Alignment with computational biology and the thematic areas.

Scientific rigour. Sound experimental or computational design, and reproducible methods.

Formatting

Title. Concise and descriptive.

Length. At most 300 words, excluding the title and the author list.

Language. English.

Structure. Background, covering the context, the biological question and the objective. Methods, covering the computational pipelines, algorithms or datasets used. Results, covering the key findings and their biological interpretation. Conclusion, covering the scientific significance and potential application.

Keywords. Three to five.

Do not cite references in the abstract.

Authors and submission

The uploaded PDF must carry the title, the full author names, the institutional affiliations, and the email address of the corresponding or presenting author.

At least the presenting author must complete the general symposium registration.

One participant may be the presenting author on only one accepted submission.

Best Oral Presentation and Best Poster are judged and awarded at the closing ceremony.

Presentation format

Choose one when you submit:

Oral only.

Oral or poster. Considered for an oral presentation first, and automatically considered for a poster if not selected.

Poster only.

Every accepted abstract is published in the symposium proceedings.

Poster specifications

Size and orientation. A0 (841 x 1189 mm), portrait.

Mounting. Tape and tacks are provided at the venue. Check your poster board number when you register in the morning.

Legibility. Headings, diagrams and body text must be readable from one metre away. Use at least 24pt for body text.

Flow. Order the content from top left to bottom right: introduction, methods, results, discussion, references and acknowledgements.

Be there. Stand by your poster during the poster session. Expect to give a two to three minute overview and to answer the jury’s questions.
